The OS is XP pro SP2. by R. I waited about 5-7 minutes (without saving) and everything held as inputed so I guess that solved the problem. Have a great day I am excited now I can finish my presentation although I have wasted many hours searching for a solution. Click on that and delete it. DON'T DELETE THE WORD FOLDER! I uninstalled and re-installed, ran detect/repair several times with no results. It should say: If the program went looking for the template and it was not there, that would explain why it terminates abnormally.

THANKS! The winword /a command finally allowed me to save two very important documents, and now that I've deleted the add-ins from the registry, Word seems to be fine. I hope you have a great day! have a peek here I'm constantly downloading trial software and usually deleting it.
Word had to be re-activated, but Internet activation worked without a hitch. Thanks! But surely Word 2002 should have a retrospective compatibility with previous versions of itself?
