My PC When Iím signed on to both network and the Test system on my PC, it doesnít work. However, instead of the link to the shortcut opening the file I'm getting an error message: "Unable to open C:\Documents and Settings\bsmithab\My Documents\CWIC\Benefits Counseling\Data Collection\Link to TransCen EN intake form. If it does not show anything you can type ?TemplateType$ in the window at the bottom of the Visual Basic editor and press enter. What causes Microsoft Visual Basic Runtime Error 5151 error? Share it with others Like this thread? I can open and print if I have the exact filename (Doc1.doc). It's linked into our system and merges information into the template.

Check This Out Some thoughts: 1) Do you have a final "\" in the m_strDIR 2) Does the constructed name already exist ? It could be either the rights, network drives or if you have user profile roaming, it could be your settings of the Office/Word in the registry. It can be you do not have the same rights as the other person.

Or it is supposed to be on a network drive mapped under some letter, maybe you do not have that drive or you have it under a different letter.
